What if whooing fails?

Worrying about the destruction of the service you use is a state of concern for affection and continued use, so first of all, thank you for your questions. Many people who use whooing agree that they are tired of frequent closing of apps and services. Therefore, we adhere to the method of operating for as long as possible without being overwhelmed, and we also operate a user subscription model for a profit structure that enables continuous operation. A detailed explanation of this is described in [Thin and Continuous Operation] (/help/intro/long).

Who can see my data?

I can't see it. This is because the user's financial data entered in whooing is entirely helpful for the user's asset management and provides only the data for each logged-in user. The entered financial data will not be provided to a third party without the permission of the party as specified in the [Privacy Policy] (/info/privacy).

Providing with the permission of the party is limited to [third party] (/help/tips/thirdparty), which is an app developed by a third party, not an official whooing app, and uses whooing. When using a third party, you can decide the right to access your own data, and can be dismantled at any time in [Application Management] (/account/tokens).

Statistical data for other usage patterns, access and search information, IP, browser, error information, etc. are scheduled through [Solutions used by whooing] (/help/faqs/common/solution), excluding identifiable personal information. It may be kept for a period of time.

What solutions does whooing use?

The major operation codes of whooing are directly written and provided on AWS. In addition, various solutions and libraries are used to construct a more complete environment. The paid/free solutions that whooing is using are as follows.

-AWS (Server and Domain Infrastructure Management) https://aws.amazon.com -FORGE (Server Management) https://forge.laravel.com -ENVOYER (distribution management) https://envoyer.io -Github (Application Source Management) https://github.com -Facebook Ad Management https://www.facebook.com/business -Google Ad Management https://ads.google.com -Google Analyzer (Site usage pattern and optimization) https://analytics.google.com -Pusher (real-time alarm and data management) https://pusher.com -Sentry (browser error management) https://sentry.io -Papertrail (Server Error Management) https://papertrailapp.com -Iimport (providing payment module) https://iamport.kr -Nicepay (payment agency) https://www.nicepay.co.kr -Paypal (overseas currency payment) https://paypal.com -Mailgun (send mail) https://mailgun.com

Also, various open sources are being used internally. For more information, refer to List of Open Sources in Use.

I can't log in.

If your password is constantly incorrect and you try again, the login itself may be completely locked. If you have forgotten your password, use [Password Reset] (/auth/forgot_password) to reset the password of the registered email. If the account itself has been blown away, it may have been unused for a long period of more than 1 year and has been automatically withdrawn according to related laws. In this case, the existing data cannot be recovered and a new subscription is required.

Also, due to the browser's cookie settings, you cannot log in even if a session is not created. Depending on the browser, it may be set to a name such as'Privacy Browsing' or'Block Third Party Cookies'. Please allow cookies after entering your browser's preferences or mobile phone's preferences.

I haven't registered as a member, but I get an email from whooing

Users can use various types of household account book apps on Android/iPhone apps through whooing's [third party] (/help/tips/thirdparty) policy. Whooing is a form in which only data is provided and the usage environment is controlled by a third party created by each developer. If you encounter whooing using such a third party, you can sign up for whooing without knowing the service called whooing (though of course you go through the membership registration process).

environment setting

The added item is not visible

In the preferences list, only the items that are active at the current time ([start date/end date] (refer to /help/categories/account-id-form/open_date)) are displayed. If you click'Show Inactive Items' in the upper right corner, all items not displayed in the current period will be displayed.

I don't know how to categorize items

It is recommended to make the items as comprehensive as possible, that is, from the highest concept. Here's why you need to make the item as comprehensive as possible. This applies to all accounts, such as assets or liabilities, expenses or items.

-If the list of items is small, it is easier to select when entering or modifying a transaction. -You can respond flexibly to changes in the situation. An item refers to a classification, and the classification criteria are supposed to change over time. If you set it to constant food and housing expenses, you can use it continuously even if your work life or household composition changes. It also facilitates management through continuous use. -There is no conflict between lower-level items and roles. And since this item can be created fluidly when entering a transaction, it is better to deal with a comprehensive concept for relatively high level items.

For more detailed account settings, refer to Item Hierarchy.

double entry/transaction input

double entry is too difficult

I think doubles bookkeeping is like a multiplication table of financial technology. It is vague when first encountered, but after that, it is used instinctively without having to think about it, and the essential elements of the purpose. Doubles bookkeeping accurately describes the concept of investment and is a method of calculating how much profit is generated through this concept.

When you learn double-entry bookkeeping in the field of accounting, you may be exposed to difficult concepts such as account subject, T-booking, 8 elements of transaction, journal entry, and total balance trial balance, which can be more burdensome. However, in terms of individual household bookkeeping and utilization, not accounting, double-entry bookkeeping can be said to be an efficient way to record multiple book relationships in one line. To put it easier, it's no different than writing when, where, how and why in one sentence when the cost is incurred.

If you first refer to External data useful for understanding(/help/accounts/reference) in contacting double entry bookkeeping, you can draw the concept a little more easily. After that, please also refer to whooing's official help page. If you refer to Understanding Accounts on the whooing help page, you can learn how to do 5 accounts required for doubles bookkeeping. You can then understand the detailed method of recording through Enter Transactions.

Difficult to select left/right

The left and right sides of the transaction show information such as the cause and effect of the transaction, the purpose of use, and the final status, depending on which accounts are selected. In accounting, it should be considered exactly like the eight elements of a transaction, but in whooing it is not necessary to do so.

As a rule of thumb, you can choose one from the left and one from the right. When selecting, look at the + /-signs attached to the right of each item name. Each symbol indicates an increase or decrease in money for that item. In other words, if you select'Cash +'and'Kookmin Bank-' respectively, it is a record that money was lost from Kookmin Bank and went into cash.

Examples are summarized in [Types of Frequent Transactions] (/help/entries/insert-example/frequently-types). Except in special cases, most of the daily transactions only appear.

Report related

Can I arbitrarily adjust the start date?

In conclusion, in whooing, the period of the month is fixed from the 1st to the last day of each month. It seems unlikely that this will change over time. The practical reasons why the start date cannot be adjusted, and the advantages of fixing it to the first day of each month are as follows.

Unable to cope with change of pay date

If the start date is set according to the payday, it is difficult to cope with the change of payday due to a change of job or company policy. If the change of start date is applied retroactively to the past, it is believed that the existing report will be transformed and the basis for the existing judgment itself will be contaminated. If it is divided into before and after, based on the point of change without retrospective application, a problem of consistency arises when searching past data. In addition, there may be a gap of several days or overlapping periods based on the time of change, which may cause problems in grasping continuous monthly data.

Convenience of fixed on the 1st of every month

There are several advantages to fixing the start date on the first day of each month. First of all, it is possible to manage independently without being affected by the change in the base date of the individual's payday mentioned above. Regardless of whether you are paid, incentives, or unpaid, you can systematically manage your monthly budget and expenses. This gives you quite a sense of stability psychologically. Anyway, even if the monthly income is the same and the monthly cost is the same, rather than waiting for a payday and seeing it go out like an ebb and feeling repetitive collapse, measuring the monthly cost, measuring the budget, and controlling the cost accordingly. With the feeling of becoming, you will have the feeling of moving under your thorough self-management.

Secondly, it coincides with the beginning of each month from a corporate and public institution and from a general perspective. In whooing, in many cases, monthly and yearly inquiries are frequently performed. In this case, July is from July 1 to the end of July, and the year is fixed from January 1 to December 31 every year without having to worry about a separate date. It is convenient.

Users' discussion of the start date can be found below. -Do you all set the start date to 1st? Or is it payday?

The credit card report and the amount in the asset liabilities do not match

The credit card report shows the total amount spent on each credit card by month. In other words, it shows the estimated billing amount. On the other hand, credit cards in asset liabilities include the amount of past use that has not yet been settled, the amount that is currently used and settled in the next month, and, if there is an installment, a future amount. In addition, some prepaid amounts may be reflected. Asset liabilities cover all of these cases, so of course there may be a difference from the amount charged this month on your credit card report.

other

Can manage multiple currencies in one section

Whooing can only be a single call within a section. Since every unit of an asset or liability must match revenue and cost, it is not possible to put different units in one section (in the future it may be possible by adding additional attributes for each item, but it is still unknown).

Within these limitations, there are call management methods as follows.

  1. Separate sections by currency units (sections are not interlinked as completely independent household accounts). It is divided into KRW section and dollar section, and can be managed for each unit. Also, on the section management page, you can view the total by calculating the list of all sections in one currency unit. How to set the exchange rate for a section

  2. Going to a separate section means that revenue and expenses are also managed separately. If you are using it for travel expenses or just for storage, you can put it in the same section. Instead, the currency unit must be unified. For example, if you need to open some dollar items in the KRW section, you can multiply the number by about KRW 1000 in KRW and record the number. And you can settle the balance according to the interim exchange rate (same method as stocks), and adjust the balance with profit or loss.

Clear cache

In the case of whooing, the drive file is read all at once and then the client works. However, if the cache files that have not been updated remain and work, it may cause malfunction. In most cases, simply'refreshing' will solve it, but if not, you can clear your browser's cache.
